ABOUT ME

I am a trained coach and mentor and an experienced culture sector leader.  I offer support, advice and guidance to individuals and organisations working in the cultural sector.

I am a trusted and widely respected individual bringing integrity, care and resourcefulness to all I do.
EMPLOYMENT

I started my career in concert management, administration and producing with London Sinfonietta, Welsh National Opera and Second Stride Dance company, before moving into senior management at the Traverse Theatre.  During my 8-year tenure as Chief Executive of Dance Base I undertook a 2-year secondment to the Scottish Government as Performing Arts Advisor.

FREELANCE

I have been a freelance arts manager since 2009, specialising in leading organisations through periods of change and transition, including at The Arches, The Work Room, National Theatre of Scotland, Federation of Scottish Theatre and Macrobert Arts Centre.  During this time, I have also undertaken a range of impactful research projects, managed major cultural projects, worked as an independent producer and served as a Trustee on many arts charity Boards. I am currently a Trustee of Scotland’s National Centre for Music in Edinburgh.

EDINBURGH PERFORMING ARTS DEVELOPMENT

I have been based in Edinburgh for 30 years, where I live with my partner, theatre director Nicholas Bone, and together we run Edinburgh Performing Arts Development (EPAD), a high impact, light-touch skills and resource sharing project aimed at strengthening Edinburgh’s professional performing arts community.  My coaching and consultancy works alongside my work with EPAD.
